How much will a Part Time or
Evening Course cost me?
How do I enrol and how do I pay?
- By sending the fees when you return the learner?s agreement to the Cashier?s Office at the main College site.
- By attending the Enrolment Evening (Monday 3rd September)
- The College accepts debit and credit cards either over the telephone or in person (at Penland Road). Please indicate if you wish to pay by this method.
How much will it cost me?
Tuition Fees - This covers teaching, tutorials and assessment on the course.
A) If you are enrolled on a qualification course in the part time programme, of more than 10 week duration, you can pay in 3 instalments.
- The first instalment must be paid on or before the enrolment evening on 3 September. The remaining two instalments are due by 24 September and 22 October.
- Unfortunately if the fees are not paid in full by 22nd October you will be withdrawn from the course.
B) If you are enrolled on a course in the full time curriculum, you can pay your fees in three instalments:
- The first instalment when you accept a place at Bexhill College.
- The remaining two instalments will be due by 3 September 2012 and 5 October 2012.
Unfortunately if fees are not paid in full by 5 October 2012 you will be withdrawn from your course.
If you choose to pay by instalments, you make a commitment to follow the entire course, and may be liable for the full amount of fees and any exam costs etc that may have been paid on your behalf if you subsequently withdraw without making full payment. The fees quoted apply to "home" and "EU" students and may be subject to change.
If your employer is paying, please make this clear on the Learner?s Agreement showing contact name and address.
Exams
The fees shown are based on 2011/12 figures, and payable by all students. The Board Registrations for Vocational Courses must be paid by the end of your first term.
College Deposit
ALL students enrolled on qualification courses detailed in the part-time programme are required to pay College Deposit of £70 (£60 refundable on completion of the course, provided no monies are owed to College).
If you are enrolled on a course in the full time prospectus you are required to pay £90 (£60 refundable on completion of your course).

Am I entitled to help with fees?
Fee Remission If you are in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) or Employment Support Allowance (ESA) in the Work Related Activity Group you may be eligible for help with the tuition fees on some qualification courses.
Please note students claiming fee remission must enrol in person with proof of their eligibility. This should be the latest letter detailing your eligibility to JSA or the appropriate ESA.
Free Tuition
If you are aged between 19 and 24 and have not previously achieved a full level 2 or 3 qualification, you may be entitled to free tuition. For information on this entitlement please speak to the adult learning co-ordinator.
Refunds
- If your chosen course does not run, we will refund your payment in full.
- If you choose to withdraw from a course in the first week, we will refund your payment, but a deduction of £12 will be made for administration, plus a charge for the week you have attended. You must apply for the refund in writing to the Adult Learning Co-ordinator.
- Refunds will not normally be offered after the first week of a course, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
- If the College has to close due to adverse weather conditions, power failure or fire, alternative arrangements will be offered where possible.
