Bexhill College Media Students Receive Certificates Of Appreciation From Hastings Lions Club
Info Updated July 2012
For the past five years the Bexhill College BTEC Media Students have been making the official film for the Hasting Half Marathon.
It started as part of their coursework but for the past two years the students have done it as an extra curriculum activity. This gives the students very good first-hand experience of making a film for a client. Each year Eric Hardwick MBE, Race Director of the Hastings Half Marathon, comes to the College and briefs the students as to roughly what he would like and each year the students put their own slight spin to his ideas so each film made is slightly different.
The team, made up of Rhys Bowles, Ben Stapleton, Dan Curme, Lucy Eldrige, Dylan Quinn-Torres, James Thompson and Jonathan Meacham, film all around the course and also the fun run starting from the pier. The students then try and get a 5 to 10 minute edited piece to go onto the internet the same day. This is a great opportunity for the students to be part of a great event and gain valuable media experiences, and the video is always greatly enjoyed by all who see it.
Eric Hardwick MBE, came back to the College to present the students each with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Hastings Lions Club, to thank them for all their hard work.
