Success At Bexhill Lion's Triathlon
Info Updated June 2012
Sunday 17th of June was a great success for Bexhill College at the Bexhill Lions Triathlon. The College entered a team made up of both staff and students, with student Greg Anderson and staff members Dave Williams and Tim Atkins entering in the individual events, and students Megan Alsop, Tom Browne and Aaron Bourner making up the relay team. Sadly, it was too rough for the swim but the event went ahead as run (1.8km) - bike (20km) - run (5km).
In the individual event Greg Anderson finished with an impressive result of 17th overall and even more impressively he finished second in the under-20 category. Dave finished 8th overall and 5th in his age category and Tim also finished with a great result of 22nd overall and 7th in category.
In an amazing result, the relay team of Megan Alsop, Tom Browne and Aaron Bourner finished as the fastest relay team of the day and Tom was around at the prize giving afterwards to collect the team's prizes from Graham Norton and the Mayor.
The student’s teacher, David Williams commented ‘The students, as always, were fantastic as representatives of the College.’ Principal Karen Hucker added ‘The students are given excellent opportunities to participate in sport at the College alongside their academic studies. The team members are studying courses across the College including A Levels, International Baccalaureate and BTEC National Diplomas. Results like this are a reflection of the talented young people we have studying with us.’
Bexhill College would also like to say a massive congratulations to Dave, Tim, Greg, Megan, Tom and Aaron for their fantastic results. Well done!
