Bexhill College's 'Early Years' Nursery Holds Mini Olympics

Info Updated June 2012

Bexhill College’s ‘Early Years’ Nursery held their sports day this year with a slight difference. To reflect the biggest sporting event in the world coming to our country, they decided to hold their own Mini Olympics.

At the start of the Mini Olympics, the children paraded around the track waving flags from different countries that they had collected in preparation for the event.

The children enjoyed 100m sprints, hurdles, classic favourites such as the egg and spoon race and even a relay featuring an inflatable Olympic Torch to finish off the Mini Olympics.

Once they had completed all of their events, each child received a gold medal and a certificate for all their hard work, which they were all proud to receive. The morning was a complete success and a great time was had by all.

Karen Woodgate, Nursery Manager commented, ‘it was such a beautiful sunny morning; the children were very excited about the Mini Olympics and had such an enjoyable and fun time. Now they’re all even more excited about the real Olympics starting!’
