Maths GCSE

Course Type : Qualification

Course Duration : 1 Year

This one-year course prepares students for the GCSE examination at Foundation Level, grades C to G. This is the standard GCSE Maths, which many jobs require at grade C. Assessment is by 2 examinations in May/June, one calculator and one non-calculator. Students may opt to take the Higher tier examination, but will need to complete extra independent work on Higher topics outside of the classroom as the C to G topics are the main focus.
The course covers topics such as number work, algebra, shape, space and measure, and data handling. At the beginning of the course you will need a scientific calculator and you will be required to buy the recommended course materials, workbook and CDROM. Internet access is required to complete homework tasks. Mock assessment tests will be given during the year to assess your progress.
NB. The change from modular exams to linear exams is government led - all schools and colleges will now be taking linear Mathematics GCSE, which means that the two exams are both taken at the end of the course.

Commencing: Tuesday 20th September 2016
Duration: 1 Year
Time: 6.30pm - 9.00pm
Fee: £390
or FREE if you do not have a C or above in Maths GCSE/O Level
