How will I be assessed?
The practical elements of this course are assessed by means of timed assessments, the preparation and cooking of individual dishes and synoptic exams. Other types of assessments include research assignments, written question papers, small projects and presentations.
Are there any special expenses?
There is a top up catering uniform and small equipment to their Level 2 uniform and equipment, this can be purchased through the College. Students will also be advised to hire a locker and obtain print credits.
What could I do next?
You could enter employment as a chef within the catering section of high end establishments, such as Fine Dining Restaurants, Michelin Star/Rosette Restaurants, Luxury Hotels or Cruise Liners. You may have the opportunity to undertake further learning, such as Higher Education, Foundation Degrees, Level 4 qualifications, or an Advanced Apprenticeship.
