Applied Law BTEC Subsidiary Diploma

Entry Requirements:
At least 5 GCSE's graded A*-C including English at grade C/4 or above.

Why Should You Take This Course?
Law is an interesting and exciting topic which develops your critical thinking and problem solving skills. You will cover a wide range of topics such as negligence, murder and contract law.

Course content
Units are broken down into three each year:
First Year:
Unit 1 -Dispute Solving In The Legal System
Unit 2 - Understanding Lawmaking
Unit 3 - Aspects Of Legal Liability
Second Year:
Unit 4 - Homicide and Police Powers
Unit 5 - Property Offences And Police Powers
Unit 10 - Family Law

How will I be assessed?
You will submit assignments for each unit. The evidence for each unit can cover a range of activities including role plays (mock trial), written assignments and group presentations. There are no exams and you can achieve either a Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Are there any special expenses?
There is a trip to London which can help bring the assignments on courts and legal personnel to life and a possibility of a work placement/ experience.

What could I do next?
This Level 3 qualification is equivalent to one A Level and you will receive UCAS points. This course can allow you to go on to University or go on and do a higher level apprenticeship in Law.
