Volleyball Academy wins the South East Regional Championships for the second year in a row

It has been a busy two weeks for the Volleyball Academy.

Last Friday, Bexhill College's first ever Menís Volleyball Team competed brilliantly at the AoC Sport South East Regional Champions in Southampton. They finished the tournament in 4th place, just missing out on a bronze medal spot. This was an impressive result for the newly formed team, who will now continue to train hard and compete for the title next year.

This Monday, the Mixed Volleyball Team faced Peter Symonds College in the 4th round of the National Cup, with the winner taking place in the National Quarter Finals. Although Bexhill put up a great fight, Symonds won by 3 sets (25-17, 25-16 and 25-20).

On the same day, the Womenís Academy had a chance to replicate last yearís success at AoC South East Regional Championships. Although it was a completely different squad from last year and their first tournament playing together, the team faced last year's final opponents Peter Symonds College.

The game was neck and neck until the end, when a time out was called at 20-20. This was an opportunity for Bexhill to regroup after letting Symonds back into the game. In the final minutes, Bexhill performed extremely well and went on to win 25-21 meaning that the Women's Volleyball Academy are the South East Champions for the 2nd year running. They will now go on to represent the South East at the 2018 AoC Sport National Championships.
