Bexhill College Table Tennis Academy Student Wins East Sussex Schools Tournament

After winning the U19s boys' team event at the end of 2017, three Bexhill College Academy players entered the U19s Singles Tournament.

The College side had last year's East Sussex champion, Joshua Bennett, amongst their entry who went on to win the National School's Final.

College entries Joshua Bennett, Ryan Heselden and Daniel Lane, all performed brilliantly and were great representatives for the College's Academy programme.

Joshua won gold at the tournament again and will now go on to defend his national title at the U19s National School's Finals. Ryan Helesden finished in third place, picking up bronze closely followed by Daniel Lane in fourth spot.

The Table Tennis Academy students benefit from regular coaching by Craig Bryant (Commonwealth silver medalist) and access to regional and national competitions.

Any current Year 11 students interested in joining the Table Tennis Academy should contact Academy Director, Mark Linch (marklinch@bexhillcollege.ac.uk).
