On Thursday 28th June, six of our Economics and Business students participated in the national Business, Accounting & Skills Education competition run by the Institute for Chartered Accountants for England & Wales (ICAEW). More than 500 schools and over 4000 students from across the country entered the competition in January. Our team of students had made it through three previous rounds before taking to the stage in the prestigious Hilton Hotel in Birmingham.
Despite not winning the final, our students performed impressively and gained so much from the experience. The group were provided with a business scenario and had to devise a corporate strategy that considered both quantitative and qualitative factors. They then had to present their plan to a panel of judges from the ICAEW and an audience comprising of students from competing schools and colleges.
