Bexhill College Host Primary Schools Girls’ Football Finals

Bexhill College and School Games Organiser, Teresa Bennett, teamed up to run the area primary schools girls’ football finals yesterday. Teresa always puts on fantastic tournaments for students and this proved to be another brilliant event.

Over 80 Year 5/6 female students played in the tournament, coming 10 primary schools in the local area. These included:

Sandown Primary School
Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School
Ark Blacklands Primary Academy
Chantry Community Primary School
Little Common School
West St Leonards Primary Academy
Hollington Primary Academy
Robsack wood Primary Academy
Silverdale Primary Academy
St Thomas’ Church of England Aided Primary

Sandown were the winners on the day and a joy to watch. It was fantastic to see so many primary school girls playing and enjoying football.

Some of the players from our Women’s Football Academy (which is in association with Chelsea FC Foundation) became officials for the day, which made this a truly female event.
With the current success of our England Lionesses, it is great to see how they are inspiring the next generation. There may be even some future lionesses coming from this tournament!

We would like to thank Gemma Stiles, Lillie McSweeney, Casey Sands, Holly Taberer and Chloe Sutton from our Football Academy for officiating the event; they were fantastic role models to the young players. And thanks to Teresa Bennett for putting on another very well organised tournament.
