Bexhill 6th Form College gave prospective students the red-carpet treatment as they welcomed them to their 2016 Open Evenings on Wednesday 19th October and Tuesday 1st November. The building was decorated like a film premiere at the cinema to embrace their key message of inspiring young people to 'take the leading role in their future'.
Principal Karen Hucker, who gave presentations during the evening in the College's well-equipped Learning Resource Centre, said: "We were thrilled so many people took the opportunity to come and look at the fantastic opportunities we can offer young people for their post-16 education.
"Surveys undertaken as students left the Open Evening showed families had travelled from across Hastings, Rother, Eastbourne and further afield to attend. This highlights the College's popularity across the area."
The Open Evenings are a chance for people to tour all of the College's modern facilities. Visitors said they found it particularly useful to speak to current students on each course to find out detailed information about the wide range of subjects on offer for 16 to 19 years olds.
Bexhill College celebrated an overall A Level pass rate of 98.6% this year, the highest in the area out of 47 different subjects, with 71% of students achieving A*-C grades. This unmatched record of success locally combines with offering the widest choice for A Levels, BTEC Extended Diplomas and vocational courses.
For those that have missed the Open Evenings, the College is running weekly tours before the Christmas holidays, starting on Thursday 10th November. These will begin promptly at 3.30pm and are available to book online at www.bexhillcollege.ac.uk.
Karen Hucker added: "If you couldn't attend our Open Evenings then prospective students and their parents can still find out about the excellent opportunities here. We look forward to welcoming more visitors to tour the College."
