Hastings-based instructor, Richard Pringle runs RP Combat Conditioning and is passionate about making exercise fun, enhancing lives and changing lifestyles. Personal Training students at Bexhill College had the chance to work with him while delivering a number of group sessions around combat training.
They were put through their paces during one of Richard's 'Urban Fit' outdoor classes. Starting at Alexandra Park in Hastings, they ran to the West Hill, East Hill and to the beach in Hastings Old Town before going back to the park. The focus was to use their natural surroundings instead of equipment. Using only steps and benches they carried out bodyweight exercises at various stages.
Iva Vlčková is a dance instructor specialising in Zumba, Bokwa, yoga and spinning classes. She introduced the students to different forms of training using methods associated with dancing.
Sean Noble, Personal Training Tutor at Bexhill College, said: "The links established with these local trainers have given the students a tangible experience of personal training and will hopefully inspire them to pursue a career in the sector."
Richard Pringle offered work experience to members of the group to work with his clients in a large group session so they can experience the real world of personal training.
The College offers a level 3 qualification in personal training and a level 2 fitness instructing course which are available to study from September. Click here for more information on these courses.
