BIMM Roadshow – 24th January 2018
On 24th January, the music students at Bexhill College were visited by the BIMM Roadshow. A representative of the organisation gave a presentation about the music industry, sandwiched between a live performance from BIMM graduates. The visitors encouraged students to think about the future, and the range of career opportunities within the industry. BIMM is a top choice for our music students who want to study music at a higher level after completing their A Levels.
About The BIMM Roadshow
The presentation gave insight to different areas of the music industry that our students may pursue as careers. They were able to learn about the job of an A&R rep (artist & repertoire representative), how music publishers work and what it means to be a session musician.
The talk gave students insight into how the renown institution could help them to advance their music career.
The British & Irish Modern Music Institute is a contemporary music college with bases in 8 locations in the UK and Europe. They offer a range of Higher and Further Education courses that focus on all elements of the music industry. As well as performers, there are courses for budding journalists, sound engineers and producers.
Success stories from the institute include James Bay and Tom Odell.
Chloe Leigh and the Willow Trio
Either side of the presentation, students were treated to a live performance from Chloe Leigh. Chloe and her band The Willow Trio are recent graduates from BIMM Brighton. You can hear their music on Soundcloud.
