Parking at the College is very limited. The car park is operated by Parking Eye and anyone using the car park for any period of time between 7.00am and 4.45pm should sign themselves in at reception and register their car number plate. During the College day, there is a 15 minute waiting period, after which Parking Eye operate a fine/charge if the car has not been signed in. This system does not operate for parents evening, open evenings or other major college events when limited parking is available for parents. If parents or visitors have mobility difficulties they should contact the College in advance and special arrangements will be made.
The 15 minute wait time should allow sufficient time for dropping off or picking up without the need to register. If students are being dropped off or collected from College at any time drivers are asked to pull into the bus lay-by or drive into the car park. Parking elsewhere presents a danger to pedestrians and vehicles. The police and traffic wardens are often on duty outside the College.
The College has limited parking facilities. There are 70 student parking spaces on site. Students need a permit to be able to park on site and should apply via reception. A designated number are issued each year. Motorbikes can be parked in the designated area within the College site and must be registered at reception. Cars that are parked on-site without permission will be subject to a fine payment.
Car Park Barrier: a barrier will be operational on the car park entrance. This will be open for drop off prior to the start of the College day until 9.15am and for collection from 4.20pm. Other than this, parents will be asked to drop off and collect their son or daughter from the front of the College. The Car Park will not be accessible for parent outside the times stated above for this purpose. These times may be subject to change as we embed the new system. If parents are coming in for an appointment during the day with a staff member, there will be access control at the barrier. Parents will be able to access the main building from the car park.
The current arrangements for signing cars in at reception will still be in operation.
Pedestrian access from the road will be via the front entrance only. There will be security staff at the entrance of the College and all students are required to scan their ID card at the gates to gain entry, in addition to wearing their lanyard at all times whilst on the premises. Visitors will be directed to the Reception. We hope that both of these developments will increase the safety and security for all who use the College premises.
