Entry Requirements:
At least 5 GCSEs graded 9-4 or A*-C including English, Maths and Sciences at grade C/4 or above.

Course content
Students studying Geography at A Level will acquire an array of skills including graphicacy, cartography, literacy and numeracy.
Topics include:
Water and carbon cycles
Glacial systems and landscapes
Global systems and global governance
Changing places
Contemporary urban environments

How will I be assessed?
Assessment at A Level comprises a range of styles including multiple choice, short answer and extended prose. Students will be examined in two exams (80%) and a Geographical investigation (20%). Fieldwork is an essential part of the course with four days in the field a compulsory part of this two year programme.

Are there any special expenses?
There will be a cost for fieldwork which involves residential trips in both years. There is an expectation that you will have appropriate clothing and footwear.

What could I do next?
Many of our students continue their geographical studies at Higher Education. Some study Geography by itself or use it in related subjects. Others study a Geography related course such as Development Hazard Management or Environmental Science.
