Entry Requirements:
At least 5 GCSEs graded 9-4 or A*-C including English at grade C/4 or above and a B/6 in Maths.

Why Should You Take This Course?
The Economics course will provide you with an understanding of how markets work and the need for government intervention due to market failure. You will also analyse how economic performance is measured and judge the suitability of macroeconomic objectives and policy. Economics is a subject that is held in high esteem by universities. Studying Economics will provide you with the opportunity to debate many contentious issues facing society, such as the payment of benefits to the unemployed and the question of whether increased immigration leads to a more affluent society.

There are many enrichment opportunities available to Economics students including, the MicroLoan Foundations Start Something challenge, the Royal Economics Society's Young Enterprise of the Year competition, the Institute of Charted Accountants Commercial Awareness seminars and the Bank of England and the Financial Times Economics blog competition.

How will I be assessed?
A Level Economics is assessed through three exams which include multiple choice questions, data response questions and extended essay questions.
