A range of E-G or 3-1 grades at GCSE or no GCSE qualifications.

Why Should You Take This Course?
Functional skills are practical skills in English and Mathematics that allow you to work confidently, effectively and independently in life.

Course content
You can study functional skills as free-standing qualifications from entry level to Level 2, or as part of the Level 1 courses.
The aim is to encourage you to demonstrate your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in a range of contexts and for various purposes.
The aim is to develop your ability to understand and make sense of mathematical information; to use and process that information; to interpret and analyse the results of routine and non-routine activities; and to present this to others.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment will be based primarily on task-based scenario questions of a limited duration and delivered in a controlled environment. The assessments will use and reinforce skills-based, problem-solving learning techniques.
Functional English is assessed through examination and controlled assessments.
What could I do next?
Progression through the different levels will give you the practical skills to be able to apply English and Mathematics, accurately and with confidence, in everyday life, education and work situations.
