Why Should You Take This Course?
This course is designed to develop candidates knowledge and understanding of the Information and Communication Technology sector. You will gain the skills you need to prepare you for a successful career, or further study, in this area.
You will study at least 10 Units (6 for Level 2 First Certificate) during the one year programme.

How will I be assessed?
There are three mandatory units, two of which are assessed via an external examination, typically timetabled for February and May each year. The remaining units are coursework based, centre assessed, and externally moderated and verified. Candidates must be committed to complete their coursework to the deadlines set by the course tutors, and endeavour to complete all coursework to the highest standard on the first submission.
Are there any special expenses?
A printing allowance will be given to each student which should cover the cost of printing homework. A variety of educational trips and visits will also be available to enhance students' knowledge and understanding of the course and related workplace. We endeavour to ensure that the costs of such visits are moderate and inclusive for all.
What could I do next?
Completion of the course is equivalent to four GCSEs graded 9-4 or A-C (2 GCSE's for the First Certificate). You could use your qualifications to access further study of a ICT Vocational qualification at Level 3, or to access Level 2 workplace apprenticeships, in which you will get the opportunity to learn as you earn.
