Applied Law Subsidiary Diploma

Entry Requirements:
Equivalent to 1 A Level.
At least 4-5 GCSEs graded 9-4 or A*-C including English at grade C/4 or above.

Why Should You Take This Course?
Law is an interesting and exciting topic which develops your critical thinking and problem solving skills. You will cover a wide range of topics such as negligence, homicide and family law. There is also an opportunity to take part in mooting competitions in the local Magistratesí Court in Hastings. Taking Law will not prevent you from going to university or to study law at a higher level.

How will I be assessed?
50% Coursework and 50% exam. There will be an exam each year.

There may be trips that enrich the curriculum.

What could I do next?
Applied Law is often used to progress onto a single discipline at university or as part of a joint honours degree. However, it is also an important component in many other degrees such as Business Studies and involves many transferable skills for many other disciplines. Studying Law often leads to careers such as a solicitor, barrister, legal executive and paralegal. Recent developments also mean that you can do a higher level apprenticeship in Law and progress in to the profession.
