At least 5 GCSEs graded 9-5, including a grade 5 or above in English.

Course Content
Unit 1: Philosophy of Religion: An exploration of the nature of knowledge, the existence of the universe and whether God’s existence can be established.

Topics include:

  • Ancient Philosophical Influences
  • God’s Existence
  • Religious Experience
    Unit 2: Religion & Ethics: Can we establish a standard of ‘good’? What is the correct moral action regarding contemporary issues such as Euthanasia?

Topics include:

  • Normative Ethical Theories such as Utilitarianism
  • Ethical Issues such as Euthanasia

Unit 3: Developments in Christian Thought: What are the core teachings of Christianity? Are Christian values and ideals compatible with an increasingly secular society?

Topics include:

  • Christian Ethics
  • The Nature & Person of Jesus Christ
  • Christianity & Secularism

How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by written examination.
