Why Should You Take This Course?
This qualification prepares learners to become Early Years Educators enabling you to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of 5 to 7 years or access Higher Education to study Primary Education or a range of Early Years degrees.
You will complete 750 hours of work placement in a variety of settings including child-minders, nurseries, primary schools, private schools and schools for children with additional needs.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed in a variety of ways, to include:
Two externally set and marked essays, unit assignment tasks, projects, work placement related tasks. At work placement you will be assessed to demonstrate competency when carrying out activities, carrying out observations and your interactions.
Are there any special expenses?
A DBS check is required for work placement as is a uniform (polo shirt). There will be a cost to travel to and from placement.
What could I do next?
You will learn the skills and qualities needed to work with children and build a portfolio of evidence to support your transition into Higher Education or employment. In order to gain employment as a qualified Childcare Practitioner, students will need to have GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above.
