Entry Requirements:

Mainly 3 grades at GCSE and the ability to play an instrument or sing is a necessity.

Why Should You Take This Course?

Music & Music Technology Industry Skills is an exciting Level 2 course that will allow you to develop your skills as a musician or producer.

Course Content
The course will involve learning a range of concepts about working in the music industry, to develop knowledge and understanding to the next stage of study. Students will explore the professional requirements and roles within the music industry as well as developing skills within their particular instrument and new music technology.

How will I be assessed?
All units are assessed through internal assessment. Internal assessment allows learners to apply technical knowledge and demonstrate mastery of practical and technical skills through realistic tasks and activities. This style of assessment promotes deep learning through ensuring the connection between knowledge and practice.

Are there any special expenses?
Students will be expected to bring in their own instruments and have access to music production software at home where possible. There will be opportunities to be involved in additional workshops activities with industry professionals.

What could I do next?
This course could open up routes to studying a Level 3 either in Music or in the Performing Art/Creative Arts sections of the College.
