Why Should You Take This Course?

A new and exciting course where students will learn about organised, competitive video gaming, where people play against each other online. It will also explore the Esports industry, events, and the range of career opportunities available. Students will also get the opportunity to take part in a British Esports Championship event. This course gives the opportunity to develop both academic and practical skills in an in-depth vocationally focused holistic study. Throughout the course, students will cultivate a range of analytical, theoretical, and technical skills relevant to working practices in the Esports industry.

The course is 100% internally assessed.

Are there any special expenses?
Students should be prepared to invest in resources for their productions, as well as a pair of over-ear gaming headphones with a 3.5m jack and a pc gaming controller. There will be opportunities for students to attend various trips and workshops that may entail an additional cost. Students will also be expected to take part in a British Esports Championship event

What could I do next?
Participation in Esports is designed to develop transferable skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and problem solving to name a few. prepares students for a career in Esports or the digital technology sector. It also prepares students for a career in marketing, advertising, events management, and social media.
Several university courses now focus solely on developing students’ Esports skills, including the University of Chichester, Staffordshire, and Northampton. It could also lead to a range of apprenticeships and full-time employment.
