At least 4-5 GCSEs including English at grade 4 or above plus a Level 3 qualification. Related studies such as Psychology, Sociology or Health Studies would be useful but other experience/qualifications will be considered.
Why Should You Take This Course?
This qualification is designed for learners interested in using counselling skills as part of their role in a wide range of sector areas or looking to progress towards accredited counsellor status with one of the counselling professional accrediting bodies. This qualification does not qualify learners to practise as a counsellor.

How will I be assessed?
Assessments for each unit are based on a portfolio of evidence including evidence such as witness statements, reflections, reports, observations of counselling skills, video recordings, presentations, and case studies. Role play is an important part of development and students need to be happy to participate in this style of learning.
Are there any special expenses?
There may be trips that will enrich the curriculum that may incur additional costs.
What could I do next?
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to similar qualifications at a higher level or progress to a role in which counselling skills are used.
