Why Should You Take This Course?
This course is designed to provide high quality, employment-related learning with a focus on a creative use of information technology. Students considering this course should have an interest in using computers and technology to solve problems and create digital products. During the course, you will develop your communication and employability skills, as well as your software skills in a range of applications.
Course content
You will study many aspects of the online world and create a realistic digital portfolio as well as developing a website. This will provide you with a range of commercially desirable skills, and a sound understanding of how ICT is used in the world around you.
You will also develop your communication, time management, and organisational skills, which will better equip you for further study or the workplace.
How will I be assessed?
For the BTEC First Award in Information and Creative Technology, you will study 2 units which will be centre assessed, and 1 unit externally assessed by the
exam board.
What could I do next?
This course will provide you with a range of skills that will be desirable to an employer, as well as a digital portfolio that showcases your skills, interests and work experience. If you choose to carry on with your studies, you could then apply for a place on a related Level 3 qualification – for example, the T Level in Digital Support Services, or the BTEC Extended Diploma in ICT.
