Entry Requirements:

This course is for students who have achieved gardes 1/2 at GCSE.

Why Should You Take This Course?

The course gives you an opportunity to develop the transferrable skills, attributes, and behaviours needed to progress to further study and ultimately to employment.

Course content
You will study a range of core units designed to build your skills, for part of the course, this may include:

  • Being Organised
  • Developing a Personal Progression Plan
  • Working with Others
  • Researching a Topic

The rest of the course will focus on the area of vocation study you are interested in.

How will I be assessed?
You will build a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. The units are assessed through a variety of activities and evidenced through written tasks, posters, photographic evidence of events, practical’s and group tasks. The evidence can be linked to your own personal interests and learning style. Work will be assessed at a pass, merit, or distinction level.

Are there any special expenses?
There may be an opportunity to arrange work experience placement towards the end of the course. This could involve travel costs, however, we will endeavour to place you near to your home.

What could I do next?
You can continue with your studies onto another level, for example, Level 2 or you may wish to study a further Level 1 depending on your personal requirements.
