Bexhill College science students have built a robot named ‘C.A.R.R.I.E' which stands for: Clawed Autonomous Rolling Rescue Interactive Explorer. C.A.R.R.I.E was built as part of the Engineering Education Scheme, a programme where colleges work together with STEM Employers, General Dynamics, to complete a challenge. The students not only built the robot, they also produced a full report on the project and presented to a panel of experts, other competitors, teachers and engineers. The group of students excelled and won the "People's Choice” award, as voted on by all those present, for the 2nd year in a row.
