The Women's Football Academy were invited to Cobham, Chelsea FC's training ground, last week to play in a tournament celebrating International Women's Day.
Participants from 5 colleges around the south of England took part in an afternoon of football which saw some excellent performances. During the day, students were treated to a visit from England player, Katie Chapman, for a question and answer session followed by a selfie opportunity with the 94 cap international.
Football Academy Manager, Sean Noble, quoted "The day was a great celebration of how the woman's game is growing and evolving. It served as a fantastic opportunity for the girls to perform at such an excellent facility, along with the chance to meet icon Katie Chapman, which really made the girls' day.”
The Football Academy will be hosting trials for both the men's and woman's academies in the coming weeks and players are encouraged to apply online (www.bexhillcollege.ac.uk) for an opportunity to attend.
