Educating our children to save the planet

Children at Bexhill College's Early Years Nursery have recently been learning about how to come together to save the planet, by learning about recycling, using less plastic, and different types of materials. The aim is to educate children from an early age about climate change and conservation.

The Nursery set up a shop role play to encourage the children and parents to take their own bags when they go shopping to prevent buying more plastic bags. This will ultimately help prevent more plastic affecting wildlife and the environment.

In addition to this, the children have also been learning about the rainforests and how animals' natural habitats are being taken away.

To try and be as eco-friendly as possible, the Nursery are encouraging children to walk or cycle to school, with bike stands available on-site.

The Nursery is encouraging members of the local community to come along to a beach clean on Saturday 9th November. They will meet at Galley Hill at 09:30, which is in front of Oceanside Café (previously Café on the Beach).

To find out more information about the beach clean, please contact the Nursery on 01424 223707.
