On Wednesday 16th October, Bexhill College's second team started the game strong against Oriel FC. They defended well and their attack caused Oriel's defence a lot of problems with their pace and intensity.
Bexhill College scored their first goal with a good header from their captain and centre back. A good number of chances were created by Bexhill in the first half but were not taken. This ended up proving very costly, as Oriel later scored an equaliser not long before the end of the first half.
For the second half, Bexhill made one substitution, taking off right winger Andre Alcazar and replacing him with Austin Alexander. This had an immediate impact on the game, with Austin quickly scoring Bexhill's second goal thanks to good attacking play on the right hand side.
At 2-1 up, Bexhill looked comfortable on the ball, but Oriel then scored an equaliser. After that, Oriel went ahead from a free kick taken just outside the box, making it 3-2 and putting a dent in Bexhill's morale. Unfortunately, Oriel proceeded to score three more after that, ending the game at 6-2 to Oriel.
In terms of player performance, Bexhill's wingers, Josh Bigwood on the left and Andre/Austin on the right, played very well throughout the game. They consistently caused problems for the opposition but just couldn't convert when it mattered most.
