East Sussex College inch ahead against Bexhill College 2nd team

On Wednesday 6th November, the Bexhill College Football Academy 2nd team lost their second game in two weeks with a 1-0 defeat against a very physical East Sussex College Lewes team.

Bexhill began the game slowly and allowed Lewes to control the match with their direct type of play. A tactical change early in the half allowed Bexhill to get a hold of the game and start to play some nice intricate football that opened up the Lewes defence on a number of occasions.

Unfortunately, some wasteful shooting from the Bexhill attacking players could not give them the lead that they deserved. With halftime approaching, a scramble in the Bexhill penalty area following a Lewes corner fell to the Lewes striker who poked the ball across the line to leave Bexhill 1-0 down at the break.

The second half followed the same trend as the first with Bexhill again missing a number of good opportunities to equalise, with the Lewes defence sitting back and looking to counter attack with the long ball.

A couple of fantastic saves from the Lewes goalkeeper late on secured the 3 points for Lewes.

Bexhill currently sit second in the league having won two out of four games so far this season.
