College staff win Active Travel Challenge

Earlier this year, staff at Bexhill College took part in the Active Travel Challenge. The aim of the Challenge was to encourage people in East Sussex to commute to work in more sustainable ways, such as walking, cycling, using public transport and lift-sharing.

Bexhill College received a certificate for the highest participation in the 101-250 employees' category. The College also received 50 to donate to a charity of its choice, and chose MIND, a mental health charity.

Overall, 522 people in East Sussex took part in the Challenge, with 4,699 kilograms of CO2 being saved overall, as a result of using more environmentally-friendly modes of transport to commute to and from work.

Congratulations to all staff at Bexhill College who got involved and helped to reduce their carbon footprints.
