Bexhill's Basketball Academy faced their toughest basketball game of the season so far, facing the Regional Champions Richard Collyer's on Wednesday 20th November. After a strong start, with early baskets from Oscar Perrotton and Joshua Kindleysides, Bexhill fought hard for all four quarters of the game. The fast-paced first quarter left the scores at a close Bexhill 16 to Collyer's 20 with Bexhill's AJ Hyde, Oliver Glynn and Ed Rose adding to the total score.
The game continued into the tough second quarter where the scores were closely matched, with Collyer's only pulling into the lead towards the end of the half. Daniel Diamond added to the baskets made, along with Player of the Match Rokas Puidokas, whose fantastic defensive work consistently flawed multiple Collyer's plays throughout the game.
In the second half, Perrotton kept Bexhill competitive and secured himself the most complete baskets during the game with the highest success percentage rate (100% from 3-point range). Oli Dowle and Hass Ilami added to Bexhill's score and although Bexhill lost the game 71 to Collyer's 84, the home team put up a fanatic fight.
Best offensive player went to Perrotton, with best defensive player going to Puidokas.
Bexhill are still currently number 1 in the South East League and will be playing their next game away to previous League winners HTS Storm on Wednesday 27th November. To see updates from Bexhill College's Sports Academies, follow @bexhillcollegesport on Instagram.
