Women's Football Team defeat US Soccer Academy

Bexhill College Women's Football Academy, in association with Chelsea FC Foundation, finished off their season by playing a game against Millcreek Soccer Academy from Erie, Pennsylvania, USA. The Bexhill Women defeated the US academy in a 3-2 victory.

Lillian Tucker opened the scoring with a 25 yard strike, which was followed by a quick fire goal from Casey Sands, giving the College a 2-0 lead at half time. Millcreek Soccer Academy scored early on in the second half but Bexhill College winger, Sharn Chapman, immediately replied scoring with a precise header from a corner. Millcreek scored another goal towards the end making the friendly very competitive.

Following the match, the team were given free match tickets to watch Chelsea Ladies beat Montpellier 3-1 in the UEFA Women's Champions League quarterfinal at Kingsmeadow, Kingston upon Thames. They also got to spend a fun day at Thorpe Park.

Mark Linch, Sports Academy Director and Women's Coach, commented, "It was a great way to finish the season and sadly we will say goodbye to some of the team, but we wish all the best in both their football and chosen future careers paths".
