On Friday 31st January, Bexhill College hosted the South East heats of the School's Geology Challenge, a competition organised every year by the Geological Society. Teams from The Skinners' School and Beacon Academy, as well as a team from Bexhill College, took part.
The event was led by members of the South East Regional group of the Geological Society, who are all employed in the Geoscience industry. During the competition, students were able to hear about their experiences in the sector and discuss options for both university and potential careers. They were also offered the opportunity to undertake work experience.
All students had to prepare an academic poster on their chosen topic, present for six minutes on that subject and they also took part in a quiz. The Bexhill College team went on to win against a very high standard of competition. This win means that the students will be travelling to Burlington House, the home of the Geological Society, to take part in the final this March.
Congratulations to the students that took part; Keri Hough, Anya Champagne, Paul Hilliard, Liam Snell and Annie Matthews. We wish the team the best of luck for the final in March.
