Students Energised to Undertake Fairtrade Challenge

Recently Jack Doherty, from Bexhill Fairtrade Town Group, visited Bexhill College to talk to first year Vocational Business students about Fairtrade and how they can make a difference.

Jack showed the students the positive impact that previous students in the College had had on people's lives in Malawi. Students saw the impact that Fairtrade has on children's lives in various countries in Africa.

Jack introduced the 90kg Rice Challenge, where students are going to try to sell 90Kg of rice, in order to pay for a year's schooling for a child of a rice farmer in Malawi. The Business students were energised to undertake the challenge as part of Fairtrade Fortnight for the College.
