Bexhill College student, Riley Davis, has successfully made it through to represent Great Britain (GB) in the National American Football Team. He received this opportunity after attending trials in Hertfordshire, which he described as hard work yet fun. Riley has played American Football for around 5 years, initially playing for his local team, Hellingly Hound Dogs.
As well as representing team GB, Riley explained that he had no idea how many opportunities playing for his local team would bring. These opportunities have included playing in the South East in Division 1 Football, which is a great chance to play at a higher level and in front of scouts. Riley is excited about this opportunity and said "I'm so happy to play for my country and be able to travel to the best cities in the UK, simply to play the sport I love!. He also commented that "One of the club's mottos is Be Great' and I couldn't be more hyped up to do so.
The future is looking bright for Riley, with games lined up against different European countries. Riley thanks his coaches, team mates, family and Bexhill College for the support he has received, commenting "The College is very supporting with my American football; my tutors understand that I can get busy at times and are always happy to help me keep up with coursework. Adding to this they've also got an amazing gym facility that I use for strength and conditioning.
Riley's next goal is to aim for the various American Football opportunities in the USA and he is keen on securing a College place there. Congratulations Riley.
