After a long journey to Cambridge on Wednesday 12th February, the Bexhill College Badminton Academy competed in a very tense and close match against Hills Road 6th Form College for a place in the Association of College's (AoC) National Quarter Finals.
Hills Road took an early lead in the singles games, pulling ahead with 3 matches to Bexhill's 1 win. However, Bexhill excelled in the men's and women's doubles bringing the score back up to 4-4. The men's doubles won their first match 2-1 and snatched the second with a confident 2-0. Bexhill really showed their strengths moving into the mixed doubles and won both matches 2-0.
Both teams showed excellent playing skill but Bexhill pulled into the lead in the final matches, ending the day on Bexhill 6 to Hills Road 4. Attentions now turn to the AoC Quarter Finals of the National Cup on Wednesday 4th March. Good luck team!
As well as Badminton, Bexhill College offers a wide range of Sports Academies for students to be a part of whilst studying at College.
