Bexhill College Football Academy's first team is partnered with Eastbourne Borough Football Club, and is in association with Chelsea Football Club Foundation. The College's first team plays in the National League U19 Alliance under the name of Eastbourne Borough.
On Monday 23rd September, Bexhill College (playing as Eastbourne) secured an excellent 3-2 win at home against Maidstone United.
An open first half saw Eastbourne take the lead with a brave header from Daniel Blackmore. Maidstone grew into the game and deservedly equalised from the penalty spot, following a rash challenge from Eastbourne, and worse was to follow with Maidstone taking the lead just before the half time whistle.
An even second half started slowly with Maidstone threatening before Blackmore grabbed his second goal of the game, with an excellent header from Matthew Astle's free kick.
With confidence growing, Eastbourne went on the hunt for the winner, and were greatly rewarded when Leone Gravatta casually lobbed the ball over the Maidstone keeper from a cross. Eastbourne battled well for the remainder of the game to secure a hard-fought 3 points.
Man of the match was Dan Blackmore, with excellent contributions at both ends of the pitch.
Attentions now turn to another fixture at home on Wednesday, this time against Tonbridge Angels.
