Bexhill College Football Academy, in partnership with Eastbourne Borough and in association with the Chelsea Football Cub Foundation, suffered an opening day 5-0 defeat on Wednesday 11th September at Welling United in the National Alliance League.
Eastbourne struggled to get a foothold in the game and found themselves 4-0 down at half time, due to a combination of careless play, with textbook finishing from the hosts.
A spirited second half performance saw Eastbourne create some good openings without ever really troubling the home goalkeeper, with an exception being Josh Pool's effort which the home goalkeeper tipped onto the crossbar.
The second half display provided some optimism for the upcoming fixtures which will certainly see Eastbourne improve.
James Hull produced an excellent display tormenting the opponents' fullbacks all game and was for sure Eastbourne's man of the match.
