After a 2-week break from league action Eastbourne secured victory in South London with a dominant first half performance.
Cameron Howard started the scoring early in the first half latching onto a through ball from Jack Taylor and finishing neatly.
Herbert Ademola added the 2nd with a long-distance drive which deceived the Walton keeper and bounced awkwardly into the net.
Ryan Moir went one better scoring the goal of the game from fully 30 yards with a vicious dipping drive which found the top corner following a period of constant possession consisting of at least 30 passes.
Ademola added his 2nd of the game from the penalty spot after Finlay Tarrant had been bundled to the ground on the stroke of half time.
Eastbourne controlled the 2nd half well and protected stand in goalkeeper Fletcher Holman well limiting Walton to efforts from distance.
Academy Coach Sean Noble beamed, “It was nice to finish the year with a confidence boosting victory. The players performed well and produced some excellent football at times and possibly could have added to the score line on a number of occasions. From our match day squad only two players were not first year players which bodes well moving forward for the remainder of the season and also for next year as the experience the players are gaining each week is invaluable.
Jack Taylor was a constant threat to the opposition all game with his strong runs from midfield along with Deleon Duah and Tyler Spice who both performed well in the back 3.
Player of the match was awarded to Herbert Ademola for a strong presence in defence securing the first clean sheet of the season whilst also scoring two goals, a captain’s performance.
