Bexhill College Seal Confident 4-1 Win Against Maidstone United

Bexhill College in association with Eastbourne Borough Football Club and Chelsea Football Club Foundation secured a confidence boosting 4-1 victory over Maidstone United in the Under 19 National Alliance League on Wednesday.

Facing a side 3 places above them in the table Eastbourne set about their task well with Charlie Gibson crashing a shot against the Maidstone bar before Herbert Ademola kept the scores level with a goal saving tackle. Eastbourne began to dominate proceedings retaining possession and creating a series of good openings prior to Louis Elliots neat finish to open the scoring. Elliot then went on to score an excellent 2nd goal following a flowing passing move with an excellent volley before completing his hat trick from a Harley Mason cross field pass. With score at 3-0’at half time Maidstone pulled a goal back early in the second half before Finlay Holter pulled off a crucial 1 v 1 save to maintain the two goal cushion. Both Elliot and Ryan Moir struck the frame of the Maidstone goal before Elliot scored his fourth of the game with curled finish into the top corner of the net from the left side of the box.

Academy Coach Sean Noble commented “the first half performance was the best performance from any team in my time at the college, both myself and the spectators present were treated to some excellent football. I hope the players can take great confidence from the game and we can make these types of performances a more regular feature of our season.

The midfield trio of Finlay Jack, Ryan Moir and Alfie Simmons were outstanding and provided the team with a platform from which we could build.

Player of The Match is awarded to Louis Elliot with a captains performance with 4 goals and an excellent all round game in attack.
