Bexhill College Student Impresses During Debut Season

Bexhill College Football Academy in association with Eastbourne Borough Football Club and Chelsea Football Club Foundation are pleased to be able share the news that current academy player Jack Taylor has been selected and represented a showcase 11 scouted by Chelsea Football Club. The event which saw Taylor undertake a training session and physical testing prior to playing in an organised 11 a side fixture against England Schools on 4/4/22. The event is designed to bring together the most talented football players who are currently unattached to full time footballing contracts and present them with the opportunity to perform in front of professional football scouts and agents.

Current Academy 1st team player Taylor who is studying A level Biology, Psychology and Economics at the college has been a stand out performer within the academy and recently signed first team forms at Eastbourne Borough. Academy Manager Sean Noble stated, “Jack has made a real impression on the various coaches he has worked with this season becoming one of the first names on the team sheet. Jack is a very coachable young player who takes on board advice very well showing maturity beyond his years and I am confident that Jack will go on to have a very successful career in football and we are very proud of the recognition that his performances have warranted”.

For now it is a waiting game for Jack to see if any football league clubs will offer him a contract following his performance in the game which his team won 2-1.

Chelsea Foundation Sussex Area manager Nick Brown commented “it’s imperative that we provide our players with a pathway into academy football. Jack played well in the fixture and has been invited back for a follow up fixture as part of our filtering process so we look forward to seeing what he has to offer again.”

Jack’s season will come to a close for the college in the coming weeks with the team completing its league fixtures away to Eastleigh and Aldershot Town respectively.
