Business Students Participate In A Fun-Filled Team Building Day

Last week, 28 of our second-year BTEC Extended Diploma in Business students took part in a highly engaging and fun-filled team-building day organised by Blackland Farm. The day was designed to bring the students together and encourage them to work as a team, with a range of exciting activities including Crate Climbing, Tunnels, and other various team-building activities, all centred around creating evidence for their Unit 9 (Team Building in Business) assignments.

The event, which took place at Blackland Farm Girl Guiding Activity Centre in East Grinstead, saw students participate in a series of challenging and enjoyable activities designed to foster teamwork and communication skills. The students were divided into teams and participated in various activities, which were aimed at developing their problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.

"We believe that team building is an essential aspect of education, and it is a key part of our curriculum," said Sam Weller, Business teacher and organiser of the event. "By participating in these activities, our students are able to develop important skills that will serve them well in their future careers."

The students were highly enthusiastic about the event, and many of them spoke about the positive impact it had on their teamwork and communication skills. " It was a fun day; I learned a lot about the people in my group and we had a great time at the farm!” said Joe Marks (Student) “My communication skills have definitely benefited from the trip, and I’ll be able to use it when I’m talking about employability skills in future job interviews.”

“What I learnt from the trip was the importance of great teamwork. Social skills were needed in each activity and concentration too. Winning the crate tower game definitely needed patience and communication.” Amber Anderson (Student)

Overall, the team-building day was a huge success, with students leaving with a sense of pride and accomplishment. The event has helped to strengthen the bonds between the students, and they are already looking forward to their next team-building day.
