As a part of employability week in the College’s tutorial programme, three guest speakers visited the College throughout the week to offer their knowledge and expertise to our students. Each speaker covered a different aspect of careers and employability, and all second-year students were given exposure to these talks.
On Monday, Martin Ellis from Recruitment South East spoke to the students about LinkedIn, personal branding, and professional online identity when applying for work. On Thursday, Darren Phillips from the Youth Employability Service spoke to the students about general employability skills, including CV writing, interview tips, finding work, and other alternatives once leaving College. Today, Stephen King, the College’s Enterprise Adviser from East Sussex County Council spoke to the students about Labour Market Information and the six key sectors within East Sussex. The talks were a great opportunity for the students to broaden their knowledge of key employability skills, attributes, and resources they will be required to develop and utilise during their post-college life.
We would like to thank all of our speakers for taking the time to attend and offering valuable insights and advice on a crucial part of the students’ college experience.
