Bexhill College Half-Term Football Camps

From Monday 13^th February to Thursday 16^th February 2023, Bexhill College will be running half-term football camps for 5–11-year-olds. These sessions will run between 9am and 3pm each day, and an earlier drop-off will be available from 8.30am. Pricing will be £20 per day, or alternatively £75 for all 4 days. Those attending will also need to bring suitable clothes to play football, suitable boots for the 3G pitch (moulded studs only, flat sole shoes or trainers will not be allowed), shin pads, a rain jacket, a change of clothes (if needed), a packed lunch, suncream and plenty of water or fluids.

Order of Events:

On each day, arriving children will be met by the green side gate in the car park and be taken to sign in and leave their bags and belongings in the changing rooms. An activity will be running in the sports hall until everyone has arrived. Those being dropped off at the earlier time will also do the same. Once everyone has arrived and been signed in, the children will head down to the 3G pitch, where they will be split into separate age groups: 5–7-year-olds and 8–11-year-olds. After this, everyone will take part in warm-up games for 30 minutes and a range of drills will follow, covering multiple aspects and areas of the game including passing, shooting, and dribbling. Before lunch, the children will take part in the first competition of the day (e.g. dizzy penalties, crossbar challenge, keepy up challenge). Lunch will be between 12pm and 12.30pm, either in the Sports Hall, or outside the sports centre on the picnic benches if the weather is nice.

The coaches’ challenge will follow straight after lunch. This is where the children will pick whose team they would like to be on out of the coaches that are present. Each coach will participate in the same challenge, and the winning coach and their team will all receive a small prize of sweets. After this, the children will be divided into their age groups once again for a round-robin football tournament. Each day of camp will feature a different-themed tournament (e.g. World Cup theme, Premier League theme, FIFA theme). At the end of each day, every child will be presented with a certificate that says, “Congratulations on completing Day (One/Two/Three/Four) of the Bexhill College Football Camp”. The sessions will conclude with a debrief from the coaches before the children are taken back up to the sports centre to collect their belongings and wait to be picked up by the green side gate.
