Quyen is from Vietnam and was an International Student at Bexhill College between 2015 and 2017. She studied A Level Media Studies, Sociology and Mathematics. In this time, she achieved two A*s and an A respectively and has been extraordinarily successful since.
She writes: “During my time at Bexhill College, I learnt so much about Media Studies, Sociology and Maths that supported my English, foundation knowledge and independence for my higher education in the UK. My favourite (course) is Media Studies - I couldn't imagine I could get the hands-on experience, that supported my learning in Media & Communication later and even for now. I also met great friends who turned into my best friends.”
Following on from her time at Bexhill College, Quyen wrote: “I then went to the University of Westminster to study for a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Advertising. I chose this course because I am passionate about communication, especially with the creativity side and this course offered exactly what I wanted to learn. I also secured a Full Fee International Scholarship - one of two places for students worldwide.”
Quyen told us that she decided to study a Master’s in International Marketing at London South Bank University where she realised that she wanted to learn more about the business and strategy side to contribute to her extensive knowledge of the creative elements to marketing and communications. She concluded her studies in 2021 after achieving a distinction, the highest result obtainable at this level.
Presently, Quyen is working full-time in Australia at RMIT University in the Communications department. RMIT University is one of Australia’s leading universities and in the top 1% of universities globally. It is a global university of design, technology, and enterprise, with more than 84,000 students and 10,000 teachers and staff across campuses in Australia, Vietnam, and Europe.
Reflecting on her time at Bexhill College, Quyen explains: “I developed my passion for Education Communications & Marketing when I was in Bexhill where I helped Jackie (Director of International) and Eleanor (Head of Registry) inspire other students to come and study with us. That was such a great period of time! I always had a dream to study in the UK as I love the country and the culture; it is also great to study Media & Communication here. That's why I decided to continue my studies in the UK.”
A massive congratulations from us at Bexhill College. We wish Quyen continued success in the future.
