Student Secures Apprenticeship with Dominic Hill

Jack Powell, a student on our AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting course has been successful in securing a Level 4 accounting apprenticeship with Dominic Hill, an established and successful Chartered Accountants located in Eastbourne. He was invited for interview and had to compete with several other AAT students from other local colleges in order to be selected for this position.

Toby Carpenter, Jack’s Accounting teacher commended Jack on his achievement, "Jack has shown commitment to his studies and an excellent attitude in seeking and applying for local apprenticeship vacancies. He is hard working, demonstrates a precision in his work, has a great sense of humour and a positive outlook on life."

Jack added, “I have enjoyed my accounting course because it is something I have been interested in for a while and the class and teacher have helped to make it a wonderful experience with fun lessons and great learning.  I found my apprenticeship at Dominic Hill by looking on the internet and finding different accountants in the area. I then emailed them, attaching my CV and cover letter, asking if they had any plans to recruit an apprentice. Dominic Hill invited me for an interview and I was successful. I am looking forward to this apprenticeship as it will allow me to build my knowledge and practical experience in accounting and help me to progress into becoming a fully qualified accountant in the future.”

This is a great opportunity for Jack as Dominic Hill have experience in a wide variety of fields  and seek to “develop local talent”.  We are sure Jack will make a success of this opportunity after completing his studies at Bexhill 6th Form College.
