Bexhill College 2nds 3-0 Defeat Over Pass & Move

Bexhill College 2nd team in association with Chelsea Football Club Foundation defeated Pass & Move 3-0 in a well contested friendly in Netherfield on Wednesday afternoon.

With both teams season now completed a friendly fixture was organised to continue the development of the players in both football academies.

In a frantic opening both teams competed for dominance of the possession of the ball with Bexhill finding success behind the Pass & Move defence creating some good openings without initially troubling the opposition goalkeeper apart from Tyreek Nengoma’s volley which crashed against the frame of the goal with the goalkeeper well beaten. Bexhill used this momentum to break the deadlock shortly before half time when Delight Akerejola converting Josh Gray’s corner from 10 yards.

The second half began again in a similar fashion with both teams competing well over the pitch. Bexhill managed to double their advantage through Logan Copley who raced onto Luke Woolvens through ball to lob the onrushing goalkeeper in great fashion.

Pass and Move nearly halved the deficit when Charlie Francis was forced into a smart save tipping a long range effort over the Bexhill cross bar.

With seconds remaining Jordan Pittam won a freekick on the edge of the Pass and Move penalty area which Thierno Diallo delivered well into a dangerous area for Aston Sweetman to turn into the goal to round of the scoring and complete a pleasing afternoons work.

Bexhill Coach Sean Noble commented “ The game was played in a great spirit with both teams a credit to their academy set ups. It was pleasing to see the team play some enterprising and flowing football to secure the victory. The players listened to the guidance they were given well both before the game and at half time and implemented the tactics well which brought about success in the game."
